8 FREE (of sugar, gluten, etc) Snacks!

To say I have a restricted diet is an understatement. I realize there are people who choose to eat in more strict ways. There are people who want to, people who need to, and people who are trying to. Wherever you fall, your question is the same. What do I eat??

Here are some of my favorite snacks right now. Mostly because they're quick to prepare, the ingredients are cheap, they taste great, and they're super fun to eat. They are all gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and have no refined sugar.

Popcorn! Pop your own over the stove- it sounds really fun, it tastes delicious, and you control the toppings. Lightly salt it or pop it in coconut oil to give a hint of sweetness.

Sliced apples and peanut butter- SO simple, SO delicious. It's also fun to eat since you use your hands! Sprinkle a little cocoa on the peanut butter and stir it in for an interesting chocolatey flavor.

Any type of smoothie hits any craving. This is frozen blueberries, banana, almond milk, a handful of spinach and blend, blend, blend. Bananas and mixed berries are a very safe bet- you can't even taste the spinach.

Chia seed pudding! Takes a few minutes to prep, leave it in the fridge for a few hours, and boom town. Add any fruit for a sweet topping.

Homemade date rolls - dates, cocoa powder, vanilla extract & coconut flakes. They take about 5 minutes to make in a food processor & then roll. Will post recipe soon!

The same old vegetables can get boring, unless of course you prepare them a little differently. This is one of my fav sweet potato styles - just peel off slices as you wish. It's a very filling snack. Cook at 425' for 45 min - 1 hr.

Don't forget about celery - the crunchy bites appeal to your senses, and when you use homemade dips, you control the ingredients and nutritional value. If you don't have time to make your own dip, grab hummus at the store. Be sure to check that the ingredients are safe for you.

Citrus is in season up here in New England, so oranges are bursting with flavor. Oranges and grapefruits offer so much for your body, plus they're pretty hands on so I always enjoy eating them.
